COACH LUCY/

I think you will know my face by now if not I’m Lucy. I to have had my own journey with fitness which I will share with you bellow. On this platform we have slowly broken away from the traditional before and after photos and merged into our community profiles from time to time you will see our members dotted about Facebook and Instagram. Their faces are the real transformations not just their body but what lies in between their ears and the smiles across their faces. Our transformations are more than just how people physically see us they are how we see our selfs, achievements physically as many have achieved their first full press up, pull up and a body weight back squat. For others we started exercise for the first time, we created a habit from a small seed of motivation. We have overcome struggles with food and exercise we have built up over many years. Your biggest transformation is within your self not just the photos of one stage to another. Here’s to another epic year of breaking the fitness mould’s and moving away from the normality of health and fitness and doing what feels fucking good…

When I first started the gym I would train 6 days a week doing bodybuilding type style workouts to sculpt my body the way I wanted it to look. Starting crossfit changed all this for me, I got addicted to lifting weights and becoming stronger, fitter, faster the best version of me I could be. I still chase that goal every time I come into the gym but now, it's about my performance; how well I can perfect my movements and how I can get better. I'm always chasing new personal bests and faster times.

It's true though that with athletics comes aesthetics, because without realising it my body has been changing and adapting because of the type of training I'm doing. I don't check my weight and look at my body and look for things I want to change. I look at it and see how strong and amazing it is.

I also don't look at my weight and automatically think I have to diet to achieve a certain stature. I look at my food and think how can I build a better engine through my diet to improve my performance? I use food as my fuel which means eating more and having more freedom with what I eat. I make changes and improve daily without chasing a number on the scale. I love my strength, my food and how they're changing me for the better.

I'm building the best me with the strongest community around me.

LYDIA /

It has been over 3 years since we started training together, Lydia had been to a few other gyms but really found she wasn't being pushed how she wanted to be so she hadn't been in awhile. Her holiday to Bail was only a few weeks away and she wanted to look her best. So we started with 2 strength training sessions each week on the run up to her holiday. She never missed a session and did anything and everything I asked of her.
After a few weeks we started to focus on Lydia's diet because this plays such a big part in our performance in both sport or physical activity but just general daily life. It was clear Lydia wasn't eating enough of what she should be. Lydia like many other women had the perception that the less food she ate the better she would look. So 6 weeks before her holiday I put her macros right up past what she needed at her base, normally before a holiday if your looking to lose weight you would go into a deficit. But this wasn't what Lydia needed. She's always on the go, working long hours on her feet and fitting in times to eat was really difficult as she was never has a proper break. After much hard work and dedication Lydia looked amazing in Bail, but this was just the start.

After increasing her training to 3 times a week and taking better control of her eating habits she's made loads of amazing progress from the trust she has in me as her coach. Her training is always changing and as are her goals, after putting on 6kg you can she how beneficial this has been to bring Lydia back up to a healthy weight along with taking on more lean mass. I've seen her strength increase from a 32kg deadlift to rep out an impressive 67.5kg within 6 months. This girl continues to make me proud not only for her work but her trust in the process. As well as her outlook on herself. When Lydia started PT it wasn't really for her it was how she felt everyone else should see her. And now she does it because she enjoys getting strong, looking after her body and of course catching up with me. She is loving her self from the inside out.

TAMMY/

Tammy’s goal has been to tone up and work on what she called her my mum tum. After months of going alone she was losing motivation and hope that she would be able to reach her goals. Doing 2-3 gym classes a day maybe 3-4 days a week and eating on the go wasn't working for her she was tried, drained, grumpy and sore.

“I started working with Coach Lucy in October when I took the left photo. She's taught me the effects of over training and under eating, and got me on the right path. I now train sometimes only 3 times a week and when I'm working long shifts I now enjoy a three meal day and a packet of crisps without guilt. I am so happy I started this. I can see changes in my body, my mental health and my fitness levels.”

“What a change having someone behind you cheering you on and believing in you makes, not to mention the laughs and jokes we have in between. I never dread a session or think 'is it worth it' now”

THE SMITHS/

Shout out to my Tuesday tag team the smiths, at the end of last year 2019 Fiona joined mark in his sessions each week. This pair are totally smashing it, working hard and investing in them selves for the future and to keep Mark fighting for his new knees. These two are some team together working hard to maintain a healthy balanced life together. Might I also add they haven’t fallen out once at PT either.

LAURA/

We have been back training now for a few months since Laura had surgery on her knee, too much dancing , working on improving her strength again and building her back up to those numbers she was lifting before. I am lucky enough to be blessed with the presence of the two Meikle sisters on my Thursday night our sessions are based around full body sessions.

Much like everyone else who uses coaching I only see these guys once a week that’s 1 hour from 168 hours out of the week. The work and effort between these few months are not of mine but of the lifestyle Laura has committed to.

Your hard work is your own I’m just here to show you the tools you might need along the way.

So proud of you Laura for how fast you have come back to regular exercise after your operation and how nothing has gotten in your way.

LYNDSAY/

Lyndsay you are some woman. Let me tell you why, Lyndsay has struggled with how she has felt about her body her whole life, fighting a constant battle in her own head. Throughout Lyndsay’s life she’s used exercise as a way to punish her body, she’s applied heavy amounts of pressure to her self to achieve so much so when failure strikes she would give in. Over these past few months we have been working extremely hard to change these habits and thoughts that Lyndsay has with food and fitness. A black wardrobe was her best friend, a way to hide her beautiful body. Food was only a reward and to indulge was a crime. Not every day is perfect and not every day is the same, but each one you achieve a little more when you learn to let go a little more and enjoy each part of this journey. Lyndsay is an amazing mum, in many ways but one especially, is how often she tells her own girls how beautiful they are. Lyndsay has introduced fitness into her own daughters life’s and gives them the resources to things she never had at that age to ensure they live in a world much more positive than she did back then. Just now we are starting a new chapter and setting some new goals taking one day at a time. I’m looking forward to seeing the rest of 2019 out with a very positive Lyndsay. I hope you read this and see how unbelievably amazing you truly are one of a kind.

Ps no more black dresses

NICOLLE/

We are working towards big day over the past 2 months we have been adding some more strength training into Nicolle’s weekly routine. She’s got has foot on the gas pedal and is not slowing down any time soon. Training 5 times a week, planning a wedding, transforming her home, teaching and just adulting this women has her work cut out for her.

You don’t just win the award for rear of the year by sitting on it either, Nicolle has been putting in some heavy graft into all of this. The most refreshing part of it is she’s actually enjoying it, I think or she just tells me that to keep me happy. See we don’t have Nicolle on some crazy diet she’s enjoying the journey all the way up to her wedding and on that day too. Nicolle understands her body and she totally respects it and doesn’t do all this to punish it in any way. See on Nicolle’s big day she will enjoy every part of it, she will get to celebrate both her and Stevens relationship with the most important people in her life. She will get to drink with her family, eat with her friends and just have one of best days of her life. Regardless if she has the flattest tummy in the room. You are mad to spend all that money on feeding everyone else on your big day to not enjoy it for your self. To spend hundreds of pounds on a cake to not get a single slice.

When Nicolle was ordering her dress they asked if she wanted to order it in a size smaller? The sassiest of Sims reply... why would I want a size that doesn’t fit me? See Nicolle like many other ladies suffers daily from bloating we all do we are human. She knows that as the day goes on at her wedding her belly with grow and she wants to be able to feel as comfortable as possible in that dress so why should she want to go for an even tighter dress?
To make her feel anything less than amazing, comfortable and confident on their day.
Mega proud of how much she’s been pushing her self over these past few months and trying new things. For not putting so much stress on her self and being the most relaxed bride I’ve seen. Here’s to the next few months until the big day .

LEONA/

This little tank had been training with me for just short of 3 months. Starting a fresh on movements Leona has never tried before weight training has been a new venture. These last few sessions we have been working with her power cleans and push jerks.

So buzzing to see what our training has in store for you my guess is getting even stronger !! One thing for sure is that no one is taking you out on shift #teamtank

ROSALIND/

Aka best squat face, this woman is unstoppable. We are over 12 months back into Rosalind’s journey of health, she’s seen many ups and downs across this time we have had injuries throughout the year to work through. Changes in life and physical changes to overcome, since summer Rosalind has but her foot down on that pedal and went all in, it’s been a hard graft but a good 4months in and she is showing what her work has done for her body and mind. This weight that Rosalind holds is 12.5kg next time you are in the gym give this a lift and see how carrying about that day in and day out would feel. This is the exact amount of weight Rosalind has dropped from her body, in losing those 12.5kg she has gained many other aspects of her life back. Confidence in her self and her abilities of what she really can achieve. A new wardrobe because her old one doesn’t fit any more, success is expensive I know but so worth it. A new and improved level and understanding of fitness, between weight training and intensive sessions with plenty of running and a few burpees too at 5 weeks 2 fit. A community of love and support from individual’s striving for the same goals for happiness of their selfs and a love of looking after their bodies. It’s not the weight that’s Rosalind’s success if it was I would show you her photos these are no before and after a it’s purely the start of a blood awesome relationship with food and fitness all over again and I’m so so excited to be here for that journey. I’m so proud of you Ros and so is your team. PS what a babe this smile is simply infectious.

LAURA/

Discovering a whole new wardrobe you always had but never had on saved Laura many pennies on her recent holiday, Laura jumped right back into fitness a few months ago at Karen’s morning classes. After a few weeks she’s ventured into Personal Training, each week we focus on Laura’s full body rather than a muscle group split. It was important that we covered all main muscle groups in that session.

She took the plunge and joined us for our 5 weeks 2 fit and she’s been stuck with us since. We moved away from slimming world on to tracking to have a better relationship with our foods with what our body wanted and needed. This wasn’t an over night change, the thing about the fitness industry is that it has so much information it’s overwhelming and some people think they know what’s best for you because that way is what they believe in. So when your new PT says to let go of syns and having a negative view on food groups your going to be a little cautious.

Laura finds now she’s doesn’t have the same cravings at the weekend to have takeaways to overindulged in these food groups because of the diet she had was such a restricting diet Monday to Friday.

Mega proud of this woman and what she’s achieved in such a short period of time, we had a goal in mind which was to feel better in her self so that when she’s was away enjoying her time with her family that’s what she was doing rather than stressing over how she looked in her clothes.

Her summer wardrobe was sitting ready for her she just had to find the confidence to look kick ass in it “I have been doing pt for 7 weeks, I can’t believe the difference in my shape and how much stronger I have become. I have also been attending 5 weeks to fit which is so motivational and each class brings a different challenge. Lucy has given me great nutritional advice, yummy recipes and I can still have some treats along the way. I’m away on holiday in a few days and it’s great to feel so body confident I’m going to enjoy my food on holiday because I know I can.”

ABILEE/

So proud of this little woman learning to lifting and get out of her comfort zone time and time again.

Her body has not just changed physically in a short period of time but mentally too. It’s one thing to be told by others that you have a body to die for but it’s another to really love and it enjoy it your self.

Not long after we started she was in hitting the gym on her own with Coach Williams to spot when needed cause this wee tank is now lifting 3 times the amount we did during our first session.

Feeling what she’s tells me is the best she has ever felt. Honestly my dream with everyone I coach is not to just get you guys to a point you feel good but to get you to actually really enjoy the body you live in regardless if it’s at week 1 or 100.

I love to teach you the basics to help build your foundations to give you the confidence and knowledge to go and use it time and time again in the further without me.
This might be then end of our 1-2-1 but it’s just the start for her.

“Thank you so much, for helping me feel the best I ever have about my body”

REBECCA /

Rebecca and I have been training for over 2 years now, she was one of my very first clients. Throughout our time training together we have worked on not only maintaining Rebecca’s healthy body but her mind as well, exercise is away of Rebecca being able to release her work and life stress to have some time for her which allows her to invest into her health and wellbeing is a key component in her life.

Our training goals are always developing as our life situations change too, Rebecca has been able to keep regular exercise in her life for many years now something which I am mega proud of.

The more than we come to discover that there is no end point of this journey we never fully reach the end of the process, the more we understand how vital it is that we enjoy every part of each stage we go through learning for all the opportunities we are giving. When training becomes more about aesthetics rather than only athletics, understanding that if we enjoy what we do and feel more than just the physical benefits it will have a much bigger impact on our bodies in the long run.

LAURA/

Laura suffers with Crohn's disease, it's a lot more than just your diet. Laura's crohns affects her in many ways and exercise was one of them, as she experiences extreme fatigue on a daily basis even without any extra exercise on top of her daily activity. With fatigue comes a feeling of weakness too which can be really hard to over come during strength training.
This wee rocket has been doing some amazing things over these past few months and she might not always give her self credit for it. When we first started our sessions were very much tailored around how she was feeling that day and now we just do what she wants, don't get me wrong within reason.

She's got her own wee night time routine for her arms when she's not with me, she has been smashing her step target too and just being more aware of moving often especially having a desk job a few laps on the building and some water breaks to get her up and moving.
This wee beaut works her socks of each week and I am so proud of how much progress we have been making both inside and out of the gym. Fitness is not seasonal it doesn't go out of fashion either, learning to look after your body one day at a time and it will look after you every day after.

This one is doing a smashing job doing just that. Much Love a very Proud Coach

SHAUNA/

I make you do a lot of horrible things, like Burpees and sprints I know you don't love me for it but I know you don't hate me either.

See the thing is you can have a personal trainer or go to a class and think right that's the work done but truth is that's the easiest part. It's the work you put in both inside and outside of these that make the changes. You are one amazing woman for being able to do both. We talk about this all the time, when we first started working together we needed to have many "I'm fucked" breaks some longer than others. Slowly week by week these got shorter and happened far less, nothing has gotten easier over these few months.

But what has changed is your confidence in what you can do and how far you can really go. You make me so proud every week for the things you achieve at Bootcamp and PT. Continue to grow and become even more of the amazing woman that you are today because it's such a pleasure to be able to be a part of your life.

EMMA/

Mega proud and buzzing to have this wonderful lady back last night for PT, Emma has recently undergone surgery on her spine now 6 weeks all clear she is ready to get back at it. Last nights focus was moving and getting her feeling good again, because being bed ridden for 3 weeks solid is no fun maybe after one day. So good to see how much exercise as gentle as it is, have such a beautifully positive impact on someone’s metal state.

Our hour session will have helped Emma I’m terms of mobility but the biggest improvement will be how she feels in her head and how she feels. We have a wedding to prep for too now as this beauty is soon to be a bride. Legit watch this space we have some epic journey coming up
